Antonia Stäcker was born 1995 in Braunschweig, Germany, where she started dancing at the age of five at T.A.N.Z Braunschweig. Since 2013 she studied dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and graduated in 2017.
During her studies she had the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Rainer Behr, Mark Siezckarek and Szu-wei Wu. She took part in various kinds of interdisciplinary projects with musicians and Physical Theater Students as well as performing in the Adhoc Improvisation Festival.
In 2014 she was awarded a scholarship for the yearly projekt of the Acadmy for Music and Art in Montepulciano.
n 2015 she founded the Duo DIALOG together with the cellist Emily Wittbrodt. Together they designed and produced various artistic events at festivals in North-Rhein-Westfalia, Rheinland Pfalz and Wolfenbüttel.
Since 2016 she is a member of the Ensemble uBu. A group of three dancers and three musicians.
Besides contemporary dance she took great interest in Japanese culture and Japanese dance, especially a dance called „Butoh“. In this context she was given the opportunity to perform in the „Behind the Movement“ festival in Berlin and to present a solo piece in Tokyo as part of the scholarship program of the “student agency for for german-japanese cultural exchange NRW.
